Swimming & Diving Completes First Day at Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –  Penn State competed in a pair of relays to open the 2019 Big Ten Championships Wednesday at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center.

The Nittany Lions competed in both the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays and set season-bests in both, and finished the day ranked eighth in the team standings with 44 points.

Penn State placed eighth in the 200 medley with the team of Marie Schobel, Carly Hart, Maddie Hart and Olivia Jack combining to finish in 1:39.20. Camryn Barry, Ally McHugh, Heather MacDougall and Elizabeth Gaspari combined to place 11th in the 800 free in 7:18.56. 

The Penn State women will continue competition at the Big Ten Championships Thursday with preliminaries beginning at 11a.m. and finals starting at 6:30 p.m. All sessions will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. Complimentary access to BTN2Go is available to viewers connected to the internet network of a Big Ten university. Fans elsewhere can sign up for the pay-per-view webcasts.
