Women’s Tennis Sweeps Cornell

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.-- Frederikke Svarre (Copenhagen, Denmark) captured her sixth straight singles win of the season to lead the Penn State women's tennis team to a 7-0 victory over Cornell. Penn State had its sixth straight doubles point win, its best start in over a decade.

Svarre is 6-0 in singles to start the season, the last time a Penn State player started off a dual season with six wins was in 2013 when Chelsea Utting started with nine wins.

Penn State improves to 5-1 on the season, remaining a perfect 5-0 at home. Cornell drops to 2-3 on the season.

"I give all 10 of the girls on our team a lot of credit," said head coach Chris Cagle. "We bounced back from Friday, which wasn't an easy day for us. We came back and put out a great team effort today. Our goal was to go in today and win every single match, and that's what we did. Full credit to the team."
