2019 Big Ten Tournament Bracket
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State earned the No. 10 seed in the Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament presented by SoFi and will face No. 7 seed Minnesota in Thursday's second round at the United Center in Chicago. Tipoff is 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT and the game will be available on BTN as well as the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUSports.com. Digital platforms FoxSportsGo.com and the Fox Sports mobile app will also distribute the broadcast.
The 22nd annual Big Ten Conference Tournament begins Wednesday, March 13 with first-round action and concludes with the championship game on Sunday, March 17. The first 10 games of the tournament will be broadcast on BTN with Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's final on CBS.
All-session and single-session tickets for the men's tournament are now on sale. Tickets will be available at the United Center box office, Ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800-745-3000. The teams will be playing in the Big Ten Tournament for just the fourth time overall and the first time since 2014. Minnesota has won all three tournament meetings and leads the all-time series 35-14. Penn State lost a 65-64 decision at The Barn Jan. 19 in the only meeting in 2018-19.
The winner faces No. 2 seed Purdue on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals.
The Nittany Lions have won seven of their last 10 games and bring a two-game win streak into the tournament. Coach Patrick Chambers has guided the program to its third Big Ten Tournament bye in program history and has won five tournament games, tied for the most in Nittany Lion basketball history.
Penn State is 14-21 in the Big Ten Tournament since the event began in 1998. The Nittany Lions advanced to the semifinals in 2018, defeating Northwestern and No. 13 Ohio State before falling to No. 8 Purdue.
None of the Nittany Lions on the current roster have played in the United Center.
