Nedoroscik Set to Compete for Team USA at the Doha World Cup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's gymnastics junior Stephen Nedoroscik is set to compete in the 12th annual Artistic Gymnastics World Cup as part of Team USA on Wednesday, March 20 in Doha, Qatar.

The junior from Worcester, Mass., will being competition at 3:30 p.m. local time. He will be the 12th competitor of the day, and the second of group three on the pommel.

Floor, pommel, and rings will compete in the preliminary rounds on the 20th; vault, parallel bars, and high bar will compete on March 21.

The floor, pommel and rings finals will take place on March 22, and the vault, parallel bar, and high bar finals will take place on the 23rd.

Nedoroscik was named to the 12-man roster for the U.S. Men's Senior National Team by the Men's Program Committee after his win on pommel horse at the 2019 Winter Cup Challenge on February 17. Nedoroscik's combined score for the weekend was 30.150, over a point and a half better than the second-place finisher at 28.500 in national team member Sam Mikulak. In the prelims, Nedoroscik scored a 15.150, and followed it up with a 15.000 in the finals. He was the only athlete to score a 15.00-plus on the pommel all meet.

Alumnus Trevor Howard (2013-16) will also be competing in Doha after winning the rings both in prelims and finals of the Winter Cup. Howard will also start competition on March 20.
