KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Penn State junior forward Lamar Stevens was selected to the 2018-19 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 7 second team as announced Thursday. Member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I vote on the ballots to honor student-athletes who represent the finest basketball players across America.
Stevens led Penn State in scoring and rebounding in 2018-19 and was one of only three Big Ten Conference players to rank in the top 10 in both categories. From North Wales, Pennsylvania, the All-Big Ten first-team pick ranked second in scoring (19.9 ppg) and eighth in rebounding (7.7 rpg). Stevens is currently fifth on Penn State's all-time scoring list with 1,660 points and is one of only three Nittany Lions with back-to-back seasons with 600 or more points.
During the 2018-19 season, Stevens became the fastest junior to reach the 1,500 career point milestone and is one of only six Nittany Lions with 1,500 career points and 600 career rebounds.
Earlier this week, Stevens was recognized as an Associated Press first-team Big Ten selection and received second-team honors from the United States Basketball Writers Association.
