UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's basketball program has announced the dates for its summer day camp Monday-Friday, June 17-21, 2019. The day camp, available for boys entering grades 1-8, focuses on the fun and fundamentals of the game of basketball. To register or for more information, visit gopsusports.com/mbbcamp.
The basketball daily camp sessions run from 9:00 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9:00-noon on Friday at Penn State's Multi-Sport Facility and Intramural Building. An awards ceremony will be held prior to the camp's completion on Friday.
The tentative schedule includes skill instruction, drills, team and individual activities, and 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. The tentative schedule can be viewed here.
Campers should expect to bring appropriate basketball gear and basketball shoes or sneakers. Each child will receive a reversible as part of the camp fee.
In addition to daily instruction and scrimmages, competitive contests throughout the week give campers the opportunity to win prizes. Gatorade and water will be provided and campers are asked to bring their lunch on Monday through Thursday;
An early-bird registration discount is available for campers who complete the application and payment process by May 1, 2019. A special rate for Penn State employees is available, per NCAA regulations, for children of the Penn State employee who complete the registration online and provide payment. A $15 transaction fee applies to all camp registrations and transactions.
In accordance with NCAA guidelines, all Penn State University Sport Camps and Clinics are open to any and all entrants, limited only by specified number, age, grade level and/or gender of its participants.
