UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.
– The Nittany Lion men's golf team tallied a second-round 278 total to move into first place after two rounds at the Rutherford Intercollegiate at Penn State's Blue Course on Saturday. Penn State finished the day with a 3-under 565.
 
Carding a 70 in each of his first two rounds, junior Ryan Davis is tied for third overall at 2-under 140 (70-70) as the leader for team scoring. Senior Charles Huntzinger is tied for eighth, starting the day with a 1-under 70 and finishing at 141. Junior Alec Bard also placed in the top 10 and stands even for the day at 142 with a 2-under 69 in Saturday's second round.
 
Rutgers' junior Christopher Gotterup leads the Rutherford Intercollegiate with a 4-under 138 (71-67) after he had an eagle and four birdies in his second round for a 67.
 
Playing as an individual, Nittany Lion sophomore Louie Olsakovsky shot a 67 in the second round, tying his career low round and sits one shot back of the lead after the first day of competition. Olsakovsky (72-67) is alone in second place at 3-under 139 with one round remaining.
 
Eastern Michigan posted identical 283 team scores for both the first and second rounds for second place with a 2-under 566. UConn's 282 for its second round helped the Huskies move into third place with a 4-over 572.
 
Final results will be available on golfstat.com and gopsports.com after the third and final round Sunday.
