PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Nittany Lions track & field team is set to compete in the 125th running of the Penn Relays this week.  Penn State has just two events remaining prior to postseason competition.

LOOKING BACK AT THE PREVIOUS WEEK
Numerous Nittany Lions set personal-best marks at both the Virginia Challenge and the Bucknell Team Challenge during last week's competitions.   

Freshman Alexis Holmes cut .24 seconds off her previous personal-best outdoor time last week at Virginia. Holmes' time of 23.53 ranks fourth in the Big Ten in the women's 200-meter. 

In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Antoinette Bradley won the event in a personal-best time of 1:00.79.  Bradley shaved over a second off her previous personal-best. 

Domenic Perretta claimed a victory in the men's 800-meter invitational, winning the event with a time of 1:49.44

Junior Danae Rivers climbed the Big Ten leaderboard following her performance at the Virginia Challenge. Rivers set the best time in the Big Ten in the women's 1500-meter race with a time of 4:15.17. Rivers set the school record in the 1500m last year. 

Another personal-best time was set for the Nittany Lions in the women's 5000-meter invite.  Freshman Julia Paternain ran 16:00.10 and had the top college time at the Virginia Challenge. Paternain moved into the top-six all-time at Penn State in the 5000m with her performance last week.

William Henderson turned in his best jump of the 2019 outdoor season with a distance of 25-1.25 (7.65m).  This moved Henderson to third in the Big Ten in the men's long jump.

A season best for senior Morgan Shigo moved him into the top five in the NCAA in the men's hammer throw. Shigo's top throw traveled 236-5 (72.05m) and moved him into fifth in the NCAA.

Noah Swaby turned in a top-10 performance all-time at Penn State in his first collegiate decathlon. Swaby finished with 7,218 points to rank ninth all-time in Penn State history in the event.

Piper Klinger set a pair of personal bests at the Bucknell Team Challenge. Klinger registered a personal-best 151-5 (46.16m) to take the top place in the discus. Klinger also finished second in the women's hammer throw.  Her top throw traveled 166-1 (50.62m), another personal best.

BIG TEN RANKINGS
The Nittany Lions have 34 student-athletes that rank in the top-10 in the Big Ten in their respective events.

Danae Rivers sits atop the Big Ten in both the 800-meter and 1500-meter race. Alexis Holmes ranks in the top-10 in both the women's 200-meter and the women's 400-meter race.

Morgan Shigo tops the Big Ten in the men's hammer throw with his top distance of 236-5 (72.05m).
