Opens in a new window Baseball and Softball Traffic and Parking Advisory for Commencement/Move Out Weekend

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Due to severe thunderstorms in the area, the series opener between Penn State softball and Indiana has been suspended Friday evening and will conclude in the top of the fifth inning on Saturday at noon at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field.

Due to continued forecasted weather Saturday afternoon, game two of the series has also been pushed up one hour and will start at 2 p.m.

The Nittany Lions (23-29, 6-14 Big Ten) and the Hoosiers (33-19, 8-12 Big Ten) got through 4.1 innings of scoreless play before the first weather delay at 7:07 p.m. and before the official game suspension at 7:54 p.m.

The game has been a pitchers' duel so far with both teams only recording two hits and no runs having crossed the plate.

Destiny Weber and Ally Kurland both doubled for the Nittany Lions in the bottom of the fourth and Bailey Parshall has four strikeouts in the circle.

Fans should be reminded of the traffic and parking advisory when attending the rest of the weekend's games with University Commencement and move out weekend on campus. Fans without reserved parking permits should park in the Orange-A lot at the Katz Law School Building off Park Avenue and Bigler Road.

The series finale is still scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.
