Drew Maher To Join Justin Ofotan at Pan American U20 Championships

MIRAMAR, Fla. - Freshman Drew Maher was the second Nittany Lion to secure his place on team USA at the Pan American U20 Championships. His performance in the 1500m race on Sunday at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships sealed Maher's spot in representing team USA.

Maher qualified by finishing second in the 1500m final. Maher ran a tactical race, running the final 400m in 51.8 seconds to finish second in the event. 

Maher and Justin Ofotan will represent Penn State on team USA, both qualifying in their respective events.

Saturday, Ofotan ran a personal-best 10.21 seconds in the 100m dash to qualify for the Pan American U20 Championships.

Maher and Ofotan will represent the USA on July 19-21 in San Jose, Costa Rica at the Pan American games.
