Any individual (each such individual is hereinafter referred to as a “Participant”) who enters, attempts to enter, or in any way participates or attempts to participate in the Penn State Athletics 2018 Men’s Basketball Season Ticket Contest (“Contest”) conducted by The Pennsylvania State University (“Penn State”) agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions provided in these Official Contest Rules (“Rules”), as well as by Penn State’s interpretations of these Rules, which are final and binding in all matters relating to any Contest.
- No Purchase Necessary. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
- Applicable Law/Void Where Prohibited. The Contest is subject to and governed by applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Participation in this Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
- Eligibility. The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States of America, who are at least 19 years of age or older at time of entry, except that the following individuals are not eligible for the Contest: (a) intercollegiate student-athletes enrolled at Penn State (b) employees within Penn State’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics; (c) any individual involved in the sponsorship of any Prize of the Contest, and immediate family members (and those living in the same household, whether or not related) of any of the foregoing. Immediate family members shall include spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws”, or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension.
- Entry. To enter the Contest, an individual must either (1) complete a purchase a 2018 Men’s Basketball season ticket; or (b) complete a Contest entry form. To complete a Contest entry form, an individual must share the Contest information on a social media platform and provide evidence of the shared Contest information via first class U.S. Mail along with your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address to Penn State at [118 Bryce Jordan Center University Park, Pa 16801]. Entries must be made and received betweenJuly 8, 2019 at 12:01 AM ET and July 26, 2019 at 11:59 PM (the “Entry Period“). Limit one entry per person. Only one Contest entry is permitted per envelope for a mail-in entry. Penn State is not responsible for problems with Contest entries, including but not limited to, entries which are lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible, or cannot be completed, even if the problem is the result of the sole or partial negligence of Penn State.
- Selection of Winner. One winner for each prize will be chosen within twenty-four (24) hours of each business day during the Entry Period by random drawing of the name of one Participant from among all Participants who complete a valid Contest entry. The drawing will be conducted at Penn State. No more than one winner will be permitted per household. Penn State will notify winners by email and/or a phone call within two (2) business days of selection. If contact is not established with a selected winner within (7) seven business days of the initial drawing or if a selected winner declines the prize, the selection process will be repeated until a winner accepts the applicable prize.

- Tues July 16: Two $10 concession vouchers to every regular season home game ($400)
- Weds July 17: Flat screen TV ($300)
- Thurs July 18: $150 Red Line Speed Shine Gift Card (Car wash)
- Fri July 19: Two Night Stay for a Basketball game weekend (excluding THON weekend) ($300)
- Mon July 22: $150 Gift Card to the Student Bookstore
- Tues July 23: Nike Swag Pack ($200) *as determined by team
- Wed July 24: Lunch with Coach Chambers ($50)
- Thurs July 25: Signed ball by Coach Chambers ($25)
- Fri July 26: Watch practice & Dinner with the team ($100) *as determined by the team
No transfer, assignment or substitution of a prize is permitted, except Penn State reserves the right to substitute a prize for an item of equal or greater value in the event an advertised prize is unavailable. Any difference between the actual value and the approximate retail value of any prize will not be awarded. No substitution or cash equivalent will be made.
- Odds of Winning. The odds of winning a prize are dependent on the number of Participants and entries in the Contest.
- Taxes. Each prize winner shall be solely responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes associated with his/her receipt of the prize.
- Claiming the Prize. Prior to being awarded a prize, winners are required to provide (1) a valid government-issued photo identification depicting proof of age and (2) a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number. The social security number will be used for tax-reporting purposes. Penn State reserves the right to deny awarding the prize if the winner fails to provide satisfactory identification, as determined in Penn State’s sole discretion. The Participant prize-winner may choose to have their prize mailed, or to pick up their prize at Penn State’s business office located at [118 Bryce Jordan Center University Park, Pa 16801]. The prize may be picked up any time between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. In the event that a prize is mailed to the winner, the winner will initially be sent any required releases and prize claim forms along with a return, pre-paid overnight delivery air bill. Failure by the winner to return completed forms within five (5) business days may lead to forfeiture of the prize. In the event the prize is mailed to the winner, the winner assumes the risk of the prize’s safe arrival. Winners shall have thirty (30) days from the date of selection to claim and pick up their prize. Failure to claim and pick up prize within this time for any reason will result in forfeiture of the prize. Penn State reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to award unclaimed prizes to alternate contestants or not to award the unclaimed prizes. Any costs relating to the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- Release and Limitation of Liability. By participating in the Contest, you hereby agree to release and hold harmless The Pennsylvania State University and its trustees, directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives (“Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims or causes of action, including but not limited to claims or causes of action arising from Penn State’s own negligence and claims or causes of action for personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt, use, or misuse of any prize. By participating in the Contest, you also agree that you shall not be entitled in any circumstance to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees.
- Publicity Release. Participant hereby grants an irrevocable, world-wide, royalty-free right and license to Penn State and the Released Parties to use, exploit, adapt, modify, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform and display the photographs, video, and/or audio (collectively “Media”) taken of me for use in promotional, educational, informational, advertising or commercial materials and communications in any from now known or later developed, including but not limited to publications, websites, articles, brochures, books, magazines, newsletters, exhibits, videos, films, social media, advertisements, and training programs (collectively “Materials”). Furthermore, Participant hereby authorize and consent to the use of my name, image, likeness, biographical information, and voice (collectively, “Likeness”) in the Media for all Materials or any other purposes deemed appropriate by Penn State.
- Disqualification. All participants agree to be bound by these Rules. Non-compliance with any of these Rules will result in disqualification and all privileges as a Participant will be immediately terminated. Penn State, in its sole discretion, further reserves the right to disqualify any person for: (i) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; (ii) gaining an unfair advantage in participating in the Contest; (iii) obtaining winner status using false, fraudulent or deceptive means; or (iv) engaging in otherwise unsportsmanlike or disruptive behavior.
- Reservation of Rights. Penn State reserves the right in its sole discretion to supplement or make changes to these Rules as well as the rules of any contest at any time without notice. Penn State reserves the right in its sole discretion to interpret the rules of any contest, and such interpretation shall be binding upon all Participants. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including without limitation lack of significant participation, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes which adversely affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Penn State reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest. 1
