BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The NIT Season Tip-Off returns to Barclays Center for a fifth-straight season Thanksgiving Week, with games on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 29. Penn State and Ole Miss square off in the 5 p.m. ET game on Wednesday followed by Oklahoma State and Syracuse. Both games will be broadcast by ESPN2.

Ticket presale information for Penn State season ticket holders can purchase tickets to the games in New York beginning July 22 via Ticketmaster.

Winners of Wednesday's games advance to the championship at Barclays Center on Friday, Nov. 29. The third-place game is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPNEWS, with the championship at 9 p.m. ET, on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The NIT Season Tip-Off games in November will mark Penn State's sixth trip to the New York City metro area in the last three seasons. The Nittany Lions and Rebels are meeting for only the fourth time ever with the three previous contests taking place in three-straight seasons from 2010-2013.

Nittany Lion basketball coach Patrick Chambers guided Penn State to a 7-3 record in the final 10 games of the 2019 Big Ten regular season, which included victories over No. 7 Michigan and No. 17 Maryland. In his eight years as head coach, Chambers ranks in Penn State's top five for wins and has 14 wins over ranked teams, the most of any Nittany Lion basketball coach.

In 2018, Chambers led Penn State to the Postseason NIT Championship and 2019 first-team All-Big Ten pick Lamar Stevens was voted the Most Outstanding Player.

The NIT Season Tip-Off has been played in New York City every November since 1985. In addition to the matchups at Barclays Center, the NIT Season Tip-Off includes four games at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando.

Yale and Bucknell, in the Orlando subregion for the games during Thanksgiving week, are two of the eight participants that will play a pair of games at campus sites prior to the bracketed portions.

The campus games are set to begin Friday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 23. Broadcast arrangements for these six contests will be announced at a later date:

  • Friday, Nov. 15: Western Michigan at Ole Miss
  • Saturday, Nov. 16: Seattle at Syracuse
  • Sunday, Nov. 17: Yale at Oklahoma State
  • Tuesday, Nov. 19: Seattle at Ole Miss, Bucknell at Penn State
  • Friday, Nov. 22: Western Michigan at Oklahoma State
