BOSTON, Mass. – Penn State women's hockey student-athletes Kelsey Crow, Cam Leonard, Brooke Madsen, Amanda McLeod and Meike Meilleur earned America Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA)/Krampade Division 1 All-American Scholar honors for their academic achievement in the 2018-19 school year as announced Tuesday morning.
The AHCA recognized student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.6 GPA during both the fall and spring semester and played in at least 40 percent of team competitions during the 2018-19 season.
All five Nittany Lions recipients were also named to the CHA All-Academic Team and All-Big Ten Academic Team while Crow, Leonard, Madsen, and McLeod were chosen Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for their academic excellence last school year.
The AHCA All-American Scholar award is the third for Crow ('19) and the second for Madsen as she enters her senior season in 2019-20. The award was the first for McLeod, also a senior, and redshirt sophomore, Leonard, and the first for 2019 summer graduate, Meilleur, who will celebrate her commencement August 10.
