UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – "Fill the Forum," an event that introduces students to the traditions, cheers and chants that create an exciting basketball game day atmosphere is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. Legion of Blue, the student section for the Penn State basketball teams presents the 40-minute event in 102 Forum on Curtin Road. Free pizza will be served at the entrance (while supplies last).
Penn State basketball coaches Patrick Chambers and Carolyn Kieger will speak at the event and members of both teams will be introduced. Legion of Blue will share their excitement about the upcoming basketball seasons.
"This is our third year holding 'Fill the Forum' and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year, and this year will be no exception," said Legion of Blue president Vinny Nardella, a senior Integrative Arts major from Parsippany, New Jersey. "We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome new students to the Legion of Blue and to the Penn State Basketball family. We can't wait to share some of the new things we have been working on for the teams."
The energy, passion and support the Legion of Blue student section brings to games has helped the Nittany Lions average double digits in wins at the Bryce Jordan Center since the basketball student section was originally founded in 2003.
At the "Fill the Forum" event, students can officially join the Legion of Blue student section and have opportunities to win tickets to the upcoming Jonas Brothers and Jason Aldean concerts, a flat screen TV and a bike.
With a maximum capacity of 357 at this event, students are encouraged to arrive within a reasonable timeframe to receive door prize tickets.
Student season tickets for the 2019-20 men's basketball season are $35, plus handling fees. The student season ticket offers access to pre-game buffets (while supplies last) with burgers, chicken tenders, cheesesteaks, nachos, pizza and section-specific seating for Big Ten Conference games and eight nonconference games in the Bryce Jordan Center.
