Reverse Car Drawing Goes Classic with Replica 1957 Porsche Speedster 356

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Owned by serious car collectors and featured in many movies, including the 1986 blockbuster "Top Gun," the 1957 Porsche Speedster 356 was an immediate classic. A cream-colored replica of this vehicle is the prize for the 14th annual Reverse Car Drawing. Only 400 tickets will be sold for the Thursday, Sept. 19 soirée and drawing with festivities beginning at 6 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

All proceeds from the Reverse Car Drawing benefit local cancer patients and their families through the Bestwick Foundation and Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State.

Each ticket is $350 and admits two individuals for an evening of elegant hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment and an open bar. A portion of cost of the ticket is tax deductible. The value of the vehicle is $30,000 or winners may opt for the cash prize of $20,000.

Tickets for this fun-filled event are available at www.bestwickfoundation.org.

The individual or individuals with the winning ticket do not need to be present to receive the prize. Winners must be at least 18 years of age and all taxes must be paid in advance before the prize can be awarded.

Through annual events like the Reverse Car Drawing and the CVC-Penn State golf tournament, as well as other partnerships, more than $3.2 million has been raised to support cancer research and mission programs in the local community. CVC-Penn State surpassed the $3 million net fundraising milestone last fall.

One of the top CVC organizations in the nation, Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State was established in 1995 under then-head coach and State College, Pa., native Bruce Parkhill. It raises funds to support the American Cancer Society as well as the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund, a local nonprofit that provides direct support to those in our community who are fighting cancer and need assistance with everyday household bills.

CVC-Penn State is a year-round program which hosts several local events and is also fortunate to be the beneficiary of third-party events including the Reverse Car Drawing.

Funds raised through the American Cancer Society's Coaches Vs. Cancer® support the ACS mission to help people "Stay Well, Get Well, Fund Cures, and Fight Back," both on a local and national level.

Individuals can get involved with the Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State chapter by becoming a sponsor or volunteering. For more information, visit www.cvcpennstate.org or call 814-238-3430.
