Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 22

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's cross country team remains ranked in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll released on Tuesday, October 1. Penn State checks in at No. 22 in the latest poll. The Nittany Lions also maintained their No. 1 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The women's cross country finished fourth at the Buckeye Preview with a team score of 87 points this past weekend.

Senior captain Kathryn Munks followed up an individual win at the Spiked Shoe Invitational with another top-five finish on Saturday. Munks finished fourth at the Buckeye Preview with a time of 20:46.0. Alison Willingmyre also turned in a top-10 finish on Saturday. Willingmyre ran 21:13.6 to finish eighth.

Julia Paternain (21:36.1), Danae Rivers (21:39.3) and Julia Guerra (22:09.4) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Nittany Lions women's cross country team.

Each of the last four seasons the Nittany Lions women's cross country team has finished ranked in the top-20. Penn State is one of just eight schools to accomplish this feat. 

Penn State returns home on October 18 for the National Open for the final regular season meet of 2019.
