Men's Gymnastics Announces 2020 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Head coach Randy Jepson has announced the 2020 Penn State men's gymnastics schedule, which includes four home meets at Rec Hall.

Penn State is coming off its fourth Big Ten title and a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships last season. The Lions return 13 student-athletes from that team, including a pair of All-Americans. Senior Stephen Nedoroscik is a three-time All-American, including two national titles, on pommel horse, while senior Sam Zakutney has earned two All-America honors on parallel bars and one on high bar.

The Lions open the season at the Army West Point Open on Jan. 10-11. They have won six straight titles at the event dating back to 2014. They have won 21 of the 29 titles since the event started.

Penn State then turns its attention to its first home meet of the 2020 season as it hosts Army West Point on Saturday, Jan. 18. Just one week later the Lions are back at Rec Hall for a Big Ten meet against Ohio State. That event will stream live on the Fox Sports App and the replay will air on the Big Ten Network the following day.

February opens with a pair of meets against non-conference opponents, starting with a matchup at Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Lions are off the following weekend before returning to action with a home contest against William and Mary on Saturday, Feb. 15. That's the last competition before they head to Las Vegas for the Winter Cup on Feb. 20-22.

Penn State then travels to take on Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 29, in a conference meet that will air live on the Big Ten Network.

Competition against Big Ten opponents continues on Saturday, March 7, as the Lions head to Champaign to take on Illinoi and Michigan. They will have a break from facing off against league opponents when they compete against William & Mary, this time in Williamsburg, Virginia, on March 14, but will be back at it the following week with a home meet against Iowa and Minnesota on Saturday, March 21.

Starting last season, the Big Ten crowns a regular season champion in addition to the winner of the Big Ten Championships, so that final meet at Rec Hall could play an important role in determining the regular season champs.

Penn State's defense of the Big Ten title will take place at Maturi Pavilion, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 3-4. The Lions then head to the NCAA Championships at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on April 17-18.
