- Penn State extends its undefeated season to 5-0 with a win over Yale with a 58-56 win in the second home game of the NIT Season Tip-Off.
- The Nittany Lions last opened a season 5-0 in 2017-18.
- This is the seventh meeting between Yale and the Nittany Lions. It has been nearly 17 years since their last meeting. This game improves Penn State's record to 3-4 in the series. Coach Chambers claims a win in his first meeting against Yale.

-Penn State overcame a 16-point deficit (2H-9:12) to win the game. The Nittany Lions last erased a double-digit lead after trailing Temple by 11 (3Q-3:50) on March 14, 2018 en route to the 2018 NIT championship
-The 58 points marks the lowest scoring game for the Nittany Lions in 2019-20 and first time they have won a game scoring less than 60 points since Feb. 4, 2019 vs. Northwestern (59-52).
-Penn State recorded 10+ steals (12) for the second time in 2019-20. The Nittany Lions lead the Big Ten in steals and steals per game.
Nittany Lions Individual Notes
-Senior forward Lamar Stevens eclipsed the 700-career rebound mark and recorded his career best with 13 rebounds vs. Yale. He becomes only the fourth Nittany Lion to score 1500 points with 700 rebounds, joining Jesse Arnelle, Jamelle Cornley and Geary Claxton with those milestone career numbers.
-Stevens achieved first double-double of 2019-20 with 13 points and 13 rebounds vs. Yale for the 12th double-double of his career.
-Senior forward Mike Watkins is one rebound shy of tying Gene Harris ( to the No. 4 spot on Penn State's career rebounds list at 761 career rebounds.
-This is Myreon Jones' 18th game leading the Lions in assists.
-Sophomore guard Izaiah Brockington led Penn State in scoring with 15 points in his fifth game as a Nittany Lion. Thirteen of his 15 points came in the second half.
