Morano and Simon Earn All-Big Ten Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.;  Three members of the Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey team have been recognized by the Big Ten with the announcement of the 2019 All-Big Ten teams.  Senior Madison Morano (Hammonton, N.J.) and sophomore Anna Simon (Hanau, Germany) earned second team All-Big Ten honors.  Co-captain Madison Hutson (Gloucester Point, Va.) was Penn State's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
 
Morano, co-captain along with Hutson, enters the post-season with four points off a goal and two assists. A four-year starter for the Lions, Morano has played in 77 games as a Penn Stater, starting 63.  He has 36 career points off seven goals and 22 assists. 
 
Simon, Penn State's main weapon on penalty corners, enters the Big Ten tournament as Penn State's leading scorer.  She has 18 points this year off eight goals and two assists.  In her second season as a Lion, Simon has started all 35 games and has 46 points off 21 goals and four assists.
 
Hutson, one of Penn State's defensive anchors, has two points this season off one goal.  Co-captain with Morano, Hutson has played in 35 games as a Nittany Lion, starting 17.  Primarily a defender, Hutson's goal this season was the first of her career.
 
Penn State is hosting the 2019 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, which begins at the Field Hockey Complex on Thursday, Nov. 7.  The Nittany Lions face Michigan in the tournament's first game at 11 a.m. on Thursday with games following at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The tournament continues with the semifinals on Friday (4 p.m., 6:30 p.m.) and the championship game on Sunday (2 p.m.).  Friday and Sunday's games air on the BTN (with the 6:30 semifinal airing on tape delay later that evening or streaming live on the Fox Sports App).  Thursday's games stream live on BTN+.
