United Soccer Coaches Release

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Penn State men's soccer senior Aaron Molloy was tabbed as a Second Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Thursday evening at the College Cup banquet. Molloy is the first All-America honoree for the program since 2010 when Matheus Braga and Corey Hertzog also were second-team award winners.

In 2019, the midfielder from Dublin, Ireland, netted nine goals and added six assists for 24 total points as he helped the Nittany Lions to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014.

The team captain's final season for the Blue and White has also been highlighted on an awards front, being named Big Ten Midfielder of the Year as well as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Molloy was also a unanimous All-Big Ten first-team honoree and a First Team All-North Region member.

Molloy finished his Penn State career with 36 total points on 14 goals and eight assists. He was a 2018 All-Big Ten second-team honoree and All-North Region third-team member. He earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors once during the 2019 season. Molloy also earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2019.

Molloy has been invited to participate in the 2019 adidas MLS College Showcase Dec. 13-15 in Raleigh, N.C. as one of 40 top collegiate players in the nation.

In program history, Penn State men's soccer student-athletes have been honored 49 times as All-Americans. Molloy is the first under head coach Jeff Cook and the fifth in Cook's tenure as a collegiate head coach.
