UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State track & field program is set to compete in its annual Blue-White intrasquad meet on Saturday, December 14 at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. Admission is free to the public, fans and spectators are welcome to attend.
The Nittany Lions will begin competition on Friday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m. ET in Holuba Hall with special indoor javelin and discus competitions. The remaining events of the Blue-White intrasquad will begin competition on Saturday, December 14 at noon in the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track facility.
The Blue-White meet is scored using international scoring rules as follows - Two individual entries per team shall score (5-3-2-1), and one relay entry per team shall score (5-3). The intrasquad competition will be scored per gender for both teams. The men's team score and women's team scores will be combined to determine the overall winning team.
Penn State opened indoor competition last weekend at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell University. The Nittany Lions won seven events during the two days of competition, including six on the second day of competition. The event winners included:
Maddie Holmberg - Pentathlon - 4,075 points
Isaiah Dillard - Heptathlon - 5,095 points
Breana Gambrell - Long Jump - 6.19m & Triple Jump - 12.23m
Alexa Parks - High Jump - 1.70m
Payden Montana - Shot Put - 15.49m
Katie Jones - Pole Vault (tie) - 3.95m
Carena Nottoli - Pole Vault (tie) - 3.95m
This will be the final meet of 2019 for the Nittany Lions. Penn State returns to action in the new year by hosting the Nittany Lion Challenge on January 11 at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
