The right-of-first-refusal period is now open and the deadline for season ticket holders to secure their season ticket location is Monday, July 15.
- The pre-sale for Nittany Lion Club members and men's hockey season ticket holders for the NHL pre-season matchup will run from July 18 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a public sale for all remaining tickets beginning at 3 p.m. on July 18, subject to availability. Tickets will only be printed for the name on the Penn State Athletics ticket account and photo ID must be presented. As was the case during the 2018-19 regular season, print at home PDF tickets will not be issued or accepted for entry into Pegula Ice Arena.
The Sabres are owned by Terry Pegula, who joined with his wife, Kim, to donate $102 million to Penn State to fund the state-of-the-art Pegula Ice Arena and establish an NCAA Division I men's hockey program in 2010.
This game marks the third of its kind at Pegula Ice Arena in the last four seasons with the Sabres taking part in all three posting a 1-1 record in the previous two contests. This game is also a rematch of the 2017 contest which saw Buffalo defeat Pittsburgh in thrilling fashion on an overtime goal by Jack Eichel just 25 seconds into the extra frame for the 4-3 victory.
