Burke Collects Another CHA Goaltender of the Week Award

WINTHROP, Mass. – Penn State junior goaltender Chantal Burke has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) goaltender of the week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

This is Burke's third goaltender of the week honor in what has been a sterling season for the first-year starter out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Burke picked up two more wins last weekend, Jan. 10-11, on home ice against conference foe, Lindenwood, to improve to 9-5-3 on the season. She made 43 total saves for the weekend and posted a .935 save percentage for the series.

Burke was especially good in Saturday's game, making 33 saves for her fourth game this season with 30 or more saves.

Her season numbers through 17 games and 16 starts have been among the best in the nation. She is tied for third nationally with five shutouts in 2019-20, already a Penn State single-season record. Her 1.57 goals-against average and .937 save percentage both stand sixth best in the country and rank first in College Hockey America.

Burke and the Nittany Lions head on the road this weekend for another College Hockey America series in Erie, Pa. against Mercyhurst Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17-18.
