University Park, Pa. – After losing the doubles point, the Penn State men's tennis (5-3) team couldn't rebound and Liberty (6-3) came out on top, 5-2.
The Nittany Lions are now 5-1 at home this season.
"Kudos to Liberty for playing well," associate head coach Paul Tobin said. "We have had good practices, and we are so disappointed we couldn't execute today. We let doubles sneak away, and it got tight in singles on several courts."
DOUBLES
The Nittany Lions dropped their first home doubles point of the season to the Flames.
Gabriel Nemeth and Alp Sentay were the long pair to win. The duo defeated Nicaise Muamba/Deji Thomas-Smith on court two 6-2.
SINGLES
The Nittany Lions won two singles matches against Liberty.
Christian Lakoseljac extended his singles win-streak to three matches with a win on court one over Muamba, 7-5, 6-3. He now has a 3-2 overall singles record.
On court six, Alp Sentay defeated Ian Sturgill, 6-2, 6-2. He is now a perfect 3-0 in singles play.
