Fencing Finishes Regular Season at Temple

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Both Penn State fencing teams competed in their final dual meet series of the regular season in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sunday. The teams went to battle against St. John's, Princeton, Penn, and Johns Hopkins. Additionally, the men faced off against Stevens while the women took on Temple.
 
The women finished 3-2 defeating No. 1 Princeton, 14-13; St. John's, 18-9; and Johns Hopkins, 14-13. They were defeated by No. 8 Penn, 10-17; and No. 5 Temple, 11-16.
 
The men also finished 3-2 defeating Stevens, 19-8; No. 9 Penn, 16-11; and Johns Hopkins, 19-8. They fell to No. 6 Princeton, 11-16; and No. 6 St. Johns 13-14.
 
Men's epee continued to dominate the competition, finishing today 5-0 and improving their season record to 23-8. Led by Elias Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Jonathan Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas) who combined for 19-8 for the day, and Demetri Zacharakis (Houston, Texas) who was a perfect 5-0.
 
Senior foil fencer, Jade Rowland (Princeton Junction, N.J.) lead all women fencers finishing the day 11-4 with two 3-0 performances against Johns Hopkins and Temple.
