Virtual Battle of the Student Sections Monday

UNIKVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State All-Sports Museum (PSASM), in partnership with Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management (RPTM) 456 students, invites all Penn State fans to its virtual Battle of the Student Sections Monday, Apr. 6-Wednesday, Apr. 15!

There will be four activities open for everyone to participate via social media. The virtual activities include sharing a video trick shot, posting a Penn State and/or sports gear still life photo, filling out a virtual PSU bingo board and participating in daily trivia via the museum's Instagram stories.

PSASM's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts can be found under @PSUSportsMuseum.

The student sections will be earning points for their participation, but all are invited and encouraged to participate! The RPTM students were able to obtain giveaways prior to the University moving to mobile learning, and all who participate will be entered to win prize giveaways mailed to your home. Drawings will occur on Friday, April 17, 2020.

The RPTM 456 students have done an amazing job changing what was meant to be an in-person event into a virtual and social media event. By participating, you are supporting students as they learn to plan and implement events for an institution. It is the hope of both the Penn State All-Sports Museum Staff, the Recreation, Park and Tourism Management Department and the students on the planning team as part of their 456 course that this event will also be a way for all of our Penn State family to socially connect during this time of physical distancing.

About Recreation, Park and Tourism Management 456
Each semester, RPTM 456 students collaborate with ten local non-profit organizations, campus organizations and state parks to plan, promote, implement and evaluate special events. All events are generally free and available for the public to enjoy, helping 456 students acquire practical event planning experiences, while benefiting agencies who are holding the special event. The class instructor is Kathleen Raupach, MS, kjr103@psu.edu.
