Penn State Great Jason Kepner Chosen To 2020 EIVA Hall of Fame Class

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Former Penn State men's volleyball standout, Jason Kepner, was inducted into the 2020 class of the EIVA Hall of Fame as announced by the league office earlier this season.

Kepner spoke with Brian Tripp recently to discuss what the award means to him while also reminiscing on memories while at Penn State. The full interview can be viewed below and on Penn State's LionVision and GoPSUTV YouTube pages.
 
Kepner spent 1993-97 with at Penn State and pieced together an impressive volleyball career for the Nittany Lions. As an outside hitter, Kepner became one of Penn State's greats and remains in the top 15 in multiple individual statistics in program history. His 1,249 kills rank 13th in PSU history and he also ranks seventh in digs with 693, and 10th in aces with 88.
 
Kepner was a freshman member of the 1994 national championship team and went on to win All-America accolades his senior season. He was named All-America second team by both Volleyball Magazine and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) in 1997.
 
He was also a three-time All-EIVA team member after a second-team nod in 1995 followed by back-to-back first team selections in 1996 and 1997.
 
Kepner's volleyball accolades do not stop there as he competed internationally for the United States at the 1997 World University Games while also playing professionally overseas in Holland. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2004.
 
Kepner is currently the head coach for the College of Charleston's women's volleyball program in his 13th season. His 288 wins with the Cougars are a program high and he has taken his team to the NCAA Tournament five times to pair with either a share or an outright win of a conference title eight times.
