UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Twelve members of the Penn State men's gymnastics team were recently named as All-America Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association. The Lions had nine gymnasts make the first team, including Jack Baldwin with a perfect 4.0 during the spring semester, while three others earned a spot on the second team.
This marks the fourth-straight year that Penn State has had double-digit honorees on the All-America Scholar-Athlete list. The Lions have placed 155 student-athletes on the list in the 26 years since the award debuted.
Joining Baldwin on the first team, which includes gymnasts with a spring GPA of 3.50 or higher, were Brayden Borromeo, Nate Warren, Sam Zakutney, Chase Clingman, Andres Perez Gines, Cannon Johnson and Eric Lung. Baldwin has a perfect 4.0 GPA through three years as a mechanical engineering major.
The second team includes student-athletes with at least a 3.20 GPA. Making the cut for Penn State were Alex Frack, Brennan Pantazis and Nick Mock.
The Lions posted the sixth-best team GPA in the nation, earning a 3.377 mark.
