UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Advisory Council for Diversity Equity and Inclusion (ACDEI) hosted two dates of roundtables to discuss best practices, lessons learned and areas of growth regarding social injustice and racial inequality. ACDEI members were joined by Dr. Amira Rose Davis, an assistant professor of history, African American studies, and women's, gender and sexuality studies at Penn State University. Dr. Davis presented education on Penn State's history in the fight for racial equity, and areas we can continue to get better.
Due to the health pandemic with COVID-19, the roundtables were held over Zoom video conferencing. However, that did not damper our attendance! With more than 150 participants, the feedback was favorable in that education was gained, and there was interest in learning more. To continue education, ACDEI has created resource tabs on its website to allow visitors to continue their education on diversity and inclusion topics.
ACDEI is working on its next roundtable event. To learn more, please visit the ACDEI website.
