UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 42 Penn State alums are populating the rosters of 23 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions are perennially a top-20 program in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com provides updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.
Receiving touchdowns were a common theme for four former Nittany Lions in Week 3. Tight ends Mike Gesicki (Dolphins) and Jesse James (Lions) both found the end zone, as Gesicki hauled in his second in as many weeks and James his first of the year. Wide receiver Chris Godwin (Buccaneers) caught a 10-yard touchdown to give the Bucs an early lead, while wide receiver Allen Robinson helped lead a Bears comeback, breaking through two defenders, for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
On the other side of the ball, cornerback Trevor Williams (Eagles) made his 2020 season debut with three tackles and a pass breakup against the Bengals, while Adrian Amos helped the Packers down the Saints with four solo stops. Additionally, Robbie Gould (49ers) converted a 52-yard field goal.
