Play Suspended During Second Round of Briar's Creek Invitational

JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. – Round two of the Briar's Creek Invitational was suspended due to darkness with Penn State currently in 15th position after a 32-hole day for most.

Round two will resume where it was halted with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning while play will continue into the final round of competition.

The host College of Charleston Cougars will begin the day atop the leaderboard at 8-over par. Michigan (21-over), Old Dominion (23-over), Miami (24-over) and North Carolina (27-over) round out the top-5 entering day two.

The Nittany Lions were led by senior Megan McLean (Lebanon, N.J.) and junior Sarah Willis (Eaton, Ohio) who both currently sit tied for 43rd at 10-over par. Willis struggled down the stretch during the first round, but opened the second round with a birdie and had an opening nine of 2-under. She is currently 1-over through 15 holes in the second round and will begin her day tomorrow on the par-3 fourth hole.

McLean carded the best first round for the Nittany Lions with a 4-over, 76, and is currently 6-over in the second round having completed 14 holes and will also begin her day tomorrow on the par-3 fourth hole.

Sophomore classmates Isha Dhruva (Katy, Texas) and Mathilde Delavallade (Royan, France) are currently tied for 61st at 13-over through 32 holes. Delavallade is just 4-over in the second round while Dhruva is 6-over.

Freshman Victoria Tip-Aucha (Vienna, Va.) carded a 10-over opening 18 and is currently 8-over with just two holes remaining in the second round as she has completed the most holes of any Nittany Lion.
