Virtual Welcome Events for Men’s Basketball Coach Micah Shrewsberry Set for March 30

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State fans can get to know new Nittany Lion Basketball Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry Tuesday, March 30, through live-streamed and interactive programs. The virtual blue carpet will roll out for Shrewsberry in the Bryce Jordan Center with two live shows: "Introductory Press Conference with Micah Shrewsberry" at 11:30 a.m., and "Welcome to Happy Valley Live" at 6 p.m. The "Welcome to Happy Valley Live" show is presented by Highmark Blue Shield.

While watching the live-streamed shows, Penn State alumni, students and fans can send their welcome and congratulations messages to Shrewsberry on the men's basketball program's social platforms.

Prior to Coach Shrewsberry stepping to the dais to meet members of the media, the "Introductory Press Conference with Micah Shrewsberry" show brings fans into the BJC at 11:30 a.m. Hosts Mitch Gerber of GoPSUsports.com and the "Voice of the Nittany Lions" Steve Jones will be joined by media members to provide insights on Penn State's new men's basketball coach, his background and the future of the program.
 
All programming will be available to view live and archived on the Penn State men's basketball Facebook page, via Twitter and LionVision on GoPSUsports.com.
 
"Welcome to Happy Valley Live" will start at 6 p.m. Hosted by Gerber, the live-streamed show will give fans a more personal look at Coach Shrewsberry. The show will include appearances by other Penn State coaches, Nittany Lion mascot, Legion of Blue, the official student section for the basketball programs, members of the spirit teams and Pride of the Lions pep band. Several members of the Penn State community and other special guests will join the show to celebrate Coach Shrewsberry's arrival.
