COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Penn State goaltender Josie Bothun has been invited to participate in the USA Hockey Women's High Performance Goaltending camp March 30-April 2 in Blaine, Minnesota at the Super Rink.
Bothun joins an elite group of 12 goaltenders at the camp and will receiving instruction from some of the top goaltending coaches in the nation. The full list of participants can be found here.
The Wyoming, Minn. native had a spectacular freshman season for Penn State and was considered one of the top goaltenders in the nation as a top three finalist for the Hockey Commissioners Association Women's Hockey Goaltender of the Year award.
Bothun became the first Penn State goaltender to be named the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Year and was both a first team All-CHA and All-Rookie team honoree for the conference.
Bothun ranked second in the NCAA in goals-against average at 1.44, third in wins with 16 and minutes played at 1,254. She shattered several Penn State single-season records for the year, including setting the new single-season wins high for Penn State goaltenders despite playing in a shortened 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
