UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State men's tennis fifth-year senior Christian Lakoseljac (King City, Ontario, Canada) has been named Second Team All-Big Ten and the program's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
"I couldn't be more proud of Christian making this year's Second All-Big Ten Team," head coach Jeff Zinn said. "He had to go through so much to get to this point in the season. He is just now rounding into form and for the Coaches to vote for him is a testament to how good he has been in his career. This is his 4th All-Big Ten award and that just proves the point that he is one of the all time greats here at Penn State. His career has been stellar and this is just icing on the cake."
For the the fourth consecutive season, Lakoseljac is an All-Big Ten honoree after earning First Team accolades as a junior in 2019 and Second Team honors in his sophomore and senior season.
This spring season, Lakoseljac posted a 6-8 singles record and a 6-5 doubles record playing exclusively at the No. 1 and 2, including a perfect 4-0 at No. 2 when paired with Christos Antonopoulos.
Lakoseljac, who holds career marks of 74-44 in singles and 66-42 in doubles, was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week on April 20th, marking the first one for the program since 2019 and the third of his career.
SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD HONOREE
For the second time in his career, Lakoseljac is Penn State's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. The honor is awarded to a student-athlete who has distinguished himself through sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
