Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2021 Camps

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's lacrosse program is hosting camps on four days this Summer, beginning in June. The Nittany Lion coaching staff will be hosting an Elite Skills Camp and an Elite Competition Camp. The first camp week is on Monday, June 21 (Elite Skills) and Tuesday, June 22 (Elite Competition). The second camp week will be on Monday, July 12 (Elite Skills) and Tuesday, July 13 (Elite Competition). Each camp will start at 11 a.m. and finish at 7 p.m. The camps will be led by Head Coach Missy Doherty and her staff.
 
The Elite Skills Camp is open to students entering grades 7-12. This advanced and competitive camp is designed for players who are serious about raising their skills to prepare for playing lacrosse at a high level. Campers will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities with individual and small group skill sessions.
 
The Elite Competition Camp is open to students entering grades 8-12. Also designed as an advanced and competitive camp, students will be able to showcase their skills in small group skill and team play sessions.
 
Campers should bring their own lacrosse sticks, mouth guards, goggles, a water bottle and their own mask(s). Turf shoes or cleats are recommended. Goalkeepers should bring all necessary gear (pads and helmet).

Doherty has been leading the Penn State program for 11 seasons. She has led Penn State to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including back-to-back NCAA Semifinals in 2016 and 2017. She led the Nittany Lions to a Big Ten Championship in 2015 and was named 2015 Big Ten Coach of the Year. She has coached 34 IWLCA All-America selections and 40 All-Conference honorees.
 
Penn State earned wins over four Top 20 teams during the 2021 season, including a season sweep of No. 7 Maryland. Four Nittany Lions were honored as All-Big Ten selections, including Big Ten Midfielder of the Year Olivia Dirks and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Kristin O'Neill.
