UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's soccer head coach Jeff Cook announced Tuesday the addition of program alumnus Callum Pritchatt to the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant.
"We are very pleased to have Callum make the transition to his coaching career with us at the program where he has contributed so much as a student-athlete," said Cook. "Throughout his time as a Nittany Lion, Callum stood for all the best attributes that we hope for in our team members: outstanding character, commitment to academics, and a passion for becoming the best soccer player he could become. He made the most of the opportunity he was provided at Penn State, and I am excited to see him flourish as a member of our coaching staff."
"I'm incredibly proud and excited to begin my coaching career with this program that means so much to me," said Pritchatt. "The opportunity to work with the staff and players in this elite program is an honor, and I can't wait to see what we can achieve going forward!"
Pritchatt, a native of Kinghurst, Birmingham, England, spent the last four years as a student-athlete and a member of the Nittany Lion midfield group from 2017-20. He totaled four goals and seven assists while leading the team in assists for two-straight years (2017, 18).
In the classroom, Pritchatt graduated with a degree in recreation, park, and tourism management and a minor in sports studies in December 2020. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in higher education. Pritchatt earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for three consecutive years (2018-20) and was a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar (2019-20, 2020-21).
The Nittany Lions open the 2021 season Thursday, August 26 against George Mason at Jeffrey Field at 7 p.m.
