Kevin Wall Named B1G First Star of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior Kevin Wall (Penfield, N.Y.) was named the Big Ten Conference First Star of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. The junior paced Penn State to a weekend sweep over Niagara with five goals over the two games.

Wall started quick opening the scoring with the first goal of the contest on Thursday during a 4-0 victory. The junior added a second tally in that contest before lighting the lamp three times in a 6-2 victory the following night.

Wall currently ranks second in the Big Ten and tied for fourth nationally with six goals on the year only one shy of a trio of individuals with seven. Wall's hat-trick on Friday night was the first of his career and the tenth in program history, the first since Liam Folkes '20 at Merrimack on November 29, 2019.

This marks the second career weekly award for Wall and the first time he has been named First Star, he was named B1G Third Star back in January. Wall is also the first Penn State player to earn First Star accolades since Folkes earned the same distinction on December 3, 2019, following his hat-trick.

Wall's seven points through the first six games of the year pace the Nittany Lions and are tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
