Women's Golf Completes Round One at Evie Odom Invitaitional

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Senior Sarah Willis (Eaton, Ohio) paced Penn State during the opening round of the Evie Odom Invitational on Sunday morning firing an even-par, 70, at Princess Anne Country Club. Willis is currently tied for 10th entering Monday's second round.

"I had fun out there today, the weather was amazing," mentioned Willis. "I just did my best to stay committed to every shot and was able to hit a lot of fairways and greens as a result."

Penn State finished the day 23-over and tied for 11th. Sacramento State leads the field after the opening round at 4-under, six strokes clear of Charlotte (2-over). UCF is currently third a 4-over while Coastal Carolina and Chattanooga round out the top-five at 5-over.

Senior Taylor Waller (Cononsburg, Pa.) carded a 6-over, 76, while junior Isha Dhruva (Katy, Texas) and freshman Drew Nienhaus (St. Louis, Mo.) added rounds of 78 and 79, respectively, to round out the countable scores.
 
Playing as an individual, freshman Katie Scheck (Greensboro, Ga.) registered a 6-over, 76, competing in her second collegiate tournament.
 
Penn State is back on the course tomorrow for the second round starting on the back nine with tee times beginning at 8:22 a.m.
