UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Postseason competition continues for the Penn State cross country team as the Nittany Lions head to Bethlehem, Pa., for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday.
The meet will mark the team's second trip to Lehigh this season, as Penn State competed at the Paul Short Run in October.
The Nittany Lions will aim to receive an automatic team qualification to the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a top two finish at the regional meet. Teams and individuals can also receive at-large selections following the regional meets.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION: The 2021 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. Both championships provide for a maximum of 31 (five-to-seven-person) teams and 38 individuals. Eighteen teams automatically qualify for the championships races by finishing as one of the top two teams at any of the nine regional races. The remaining 13 at-large teams are selected by the NCAA Division I Cross Country Subcommittee. Thirty-six individuals automatically qualify for the championships races by being one of the top four regional finishers not on an advancing team. Two additional individuals are selected at-large by the committee. Fans can watch the selection show on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 5 p.m. ET, on NCAA.com.

The Nittany Lions last competed at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships. Evan Dorenkamp led the Nittany Lions with a 16th place finish on the men's side while Madaline Ullom (28th) led the Penn State women.
FAMILIAR TERRITORY
The meet will mark Penn State's second trip to Lehigh this season as the team traveled to Bethlehem for the Paul Short Run on Oct. 1. Alison Willingmyre (31st) and Sophia Toti (34th) were the top placing Penn State women and Brandon Hontz led the Penn State men (44th).
