Reedy Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District Team Nods

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's soccer student-athlete Pierre Reedy has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team for Division I men's soccer, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday. This award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Reedy is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® consideration. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

The epitome of a student-athlete, Reedy, a redshirt senior from Kutztown, Pennsylvania, is a two-time graduate of Penn State. The midfielder finished his undergraduate degree in security and risk analysis in May 2020 and most recently completed a masters in corporate finance in May 2021, holding impressive GPAs of 3.64 and 3.66, respectively. He is currently working on another undergraduate degree in sociology as he continues to compete with the Nittany Lions.

This is the second-straight year Reedy has made the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team after also receiving the honors in 2020-21 along with a first team Academic All-America® distinction. He was also named a First Team Scholar All-American by United Soccer Coaches last season after earning Scholar All-Region Team accolades. Reedy is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.

On the pitch this season, Reedy has seven total points on two goals and three assists as he helped lead the Nittany Lions to their first Big Ten regular season crown since 2013.. He was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team last week.

Reedy is the program's first back-to-back member of the Academic All-District® Team since Andy Parr in 2009-10.
