Penn State Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Concludes NC State Invite

University Park, Pa. – Penn State concluded the three day NC State Invitational on Saturday with a total score of 893.50 points to place fifth overall in the nine team field.

The Nittany Lions broke three school records during the meet. Junior Daniel Raisanen broke Penn State's record in the 100 and 200 breast, while freshman Victor Baganha broke the school record in the 100 fly.

Host NC State placed first in the invitational with 2,207 points.

Top Swims:

Raisanen advanced to finals in the 100 breast, breaking the school record with a time of 52.73 and finishing second during Friday's session. Then on Saturday, Raisanen again advanced to finals, breaking the PSU record in the 200 breast with a time of 1:54.58 and placing third.

Also on Friday, in the 100 fly, Baganha finished with a time of 45.92 to break the school's record.
 
On Saturday in the 200 back, senior Michael Daly placed sixth with a time of 1:45.18. 
  
Nittany Lions Relays:
Penn State placed seventh in the 400 free relay with a time of 2:54.71. Team contributors were junior Zane Sutton, sophomore Jake Houck, Baganha, and Daly. 

They also placed sixth in the 200 Yard medley relay with a time of 1:25.84. Team contributors are fifth year Will Roberson, Raisanen, Baganha, and Houck.

Senior Jonah Cey won the platform dive and earned a zone cut with a score of 317.95.

The Nittany Lions will have a long break through the holidays until they travel to Army on Friday, January 7th.
