Men's Rugby edge Brown move onto NCR Semi-Final

University Park, PA - On a chilly Saturday afternoon, Penn State Men's rugby managed to come out on top against a good Brown University team 27-26.

After a strong start from the Nittany Lions the pressure was converted to points through a penalty from Dalton Musselman to take the lead 3-0. This did not deter the Brown team who pushed the Lions and scored 3 unanswered tries to go ahead 19-3. Just before the half Charlie Overton worked hard to put himself in a try scoring position to close the gap 19-8 in favor of Brown, this was followed up in quick succession on a well worked strike move which sent Jesse Capriotti streaking in from 50m out, Dalton Musselman converted and the game was a one score game heading into the half, 19-15 in favor of Brown.

Brown responded quickly in the second half to extend their lead 26-15. WIth time winding down the Nittany Lions dug deep and sticking with the plan worked well to get themselves into a scoring space, Captain Campbell Halloran powered his way through. A few minutes later, Finisher Tristan Sommerville ran a wonderful line to go through untouched, Dalton Musselman converted and with that the lead and the win 27-26.

With this win the team move onto the NCR Semi-Final vs. Queens University from Charlotte, NC. This match will be played 3:00pm at PSU Berks Campus on 12/4.
