Women's Tennis Announces 2021 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Women's Tennis team has released the 2021 spring schedule. The Nittany Lions will look to complete a full season under second-year coach Alexandra Anghelescu following the abbreviated 2020 spring season. The 17-match slate is completely comprised of familiar Big Ten foes with nine matches in friendly territory.

Penn State returns seven players from the 2019-20 roster, including captains Gabby O'Gorman and Samantha Smith. They will be joined a crop of five freshmen to round out the roster.

The Nittany Lions will begin play on Feb. 5 by traveling to East Lansing for a match against Michigan State.

Conference play will officially open up the following weekend, where Penn State will host a two game homestand beginning on Feb. 12 against Indiana and concluding on Feb. 14 against Purdue.

The Nittany Lions will then hit the road for back-to-back days, meeting Rutgers on Feb. 20 and Maryland on Feb. 21.

Penn State will then head back home for the weekend to take on Michigan on Feb. 26 and Michigan State on Feb. 28.

March opens up with a trip to Iowa City to take on Iowa on Mar. 5 before heading down to Nebraska on Mar. 7.

The Nittany Lions will then enjoy a short break from traveling, hosting Ohio State on Mar. 14, Rutgers on Mar. 20, and Maryland on Mar. 21.

Penn State will end the month traveling back to Michigan to take on the Wolverines on Mar. 27 and the Spartans on Mar. 28.

After a week off, Penn State will host the final home matches of the season on Apr. 9 against Wisconsin and Apr. 11 against Minnesota. 

The regular season will conclude on Apr. 18 in Columbus for a meeting with Ohio State.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Wisconsin.
