Men's Tennis Set for Sunday Doubleheader

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's tennis team (4-3) is gearing up to host Delaware (2-2) and St. Bonaventure (1-3) in a doubleheader matchup on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET.  

LAST TIME OUT 

The Nittany Lions were defeated by Princeton, 6-1, in their last outing. The Tigers secured the doubles point and clinched courts one, two, three, and four, and six to take the match. 

Sam Bossem posted Penn State's only point in a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Princeton's Thomas Bosancic.  

SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS 

Delaware enters this weekend's matchup after being swept 7-0 by VCU. The Blue Hens dropped another match to St. Johns but earned wins over Youngstown State and Villanova for a 2-2 record. They will play Navy at home on Friday before heading to University Park on Sunday. 

This contest marks the first time in program history that the Delaware Blue Hens and the Penn State Nittany Lions will face off in a dual match. 

PREVIEWING THE BONNIES 

St. Bonaventure heads into this weekend with a 1-3 record. The Bonnies posted their only win of the season in a 4-3 match over St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, Feb. 13. They will take on Buffalo at home on Saturday, before traveling to the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center.  

In ten contests all-time against the Bonnies, Penn State has never lost a dual match. The Nittany Lions most recent win came in 2020 with a 5-0 victory over St. Bonaventure. Charl Morgan earned a doubles point with partner Christian Lakoseljac and defeated his singles opponent 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the match for Penn State.

Penn State will travel to Penn for a 1 p.m. ET matchup on Saturday, Feb. 26.
