Men's Lacrosse Travels to Play Saint Joseph's on Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State men's lacrosse goes on the road for the first time this season when it travels to play Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. 

The Nittany Lions are 1-2 on the season following a loss to Vermont, while Saint Joseph's is 1-1 following a loss to Delaware.

SERIES HISTORY
• Penn State leads 8-0 in the all-time series. The teams have played just once over the past eight seasons.
• The teams first played in 2007.
• The Lions are 4-0 against the Hawks during Jeff Tambroni's time as head coach.
• Penn State won 19-4 in the most recent meeting in 2020. TJ Malone  totaled four points on one goal and three assists, while Joe White had one goal and two assists. Seamus Glynn contributed two assists. Aleric Fyock played 7:53 in goal in his collegiate debut.
• Saturday will mark just the third time Penn State has gone on the road to play Saint Joseph's.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph's is 1-1 with a 12-11 win over St. Bonaventure and a 12-11 loss to No. 17 Delaware.
• The Hawks are the defending regular season champion in the NEC, going 8-0 in conference games last year. They were picked to finish second in this season's NEC Preseason Poll.
• Zach Cole has taken all 52 faceoffs for the Hawks this season and is an impressive 38-52 (.731). He is the reigning NEC Player of the Week and was a third-team All-American last season.
• Saint Joseph's ranks second in the nation in clearing percentage (.962) and third in the nation in faceoff win percentage (.731).

• Penn State is 36-34-1 all-time against current members of the NEC.
• The Lions have played three of the right teams in the NEC and have a winning record against two of them -- Mount St. Mary's (2-0) and Saint Joseph's (8-0).
