MATCH NOTES AND INFORMATION

  • The Nittany Lions have won 13-straight matches, tying the program's longest win streak since 2015 (17 in a row) and the longest active win streak in DI-II men's volleyball.
  • Penn State is unbeaten at home with an 9-0 record and just one lost set (27-1).
  • Last weekend, Penn State defeated both Princeton and George Mason on the road. Cal Fisher scored a team-best 18 kills while hitting .375 and adding four blocks in the four-set Princeton win.
  • In Sunday's match at George Mason on March 20, Penn State tallied 14.0 team blocks to sweep the Patriots for the second time this season. Sam Marsh and Toby Ezeonu each had seven blocks, while seven total Nittany Lions registered at least one block.
  • The Nittany Lions' record against the Crimson is 20-3. The teams last played Feb. 11, 2022 in Cambridge, Mass. Penn State came out with the 3-0 victory thanks to a combined 23 kills from Brett Wildman and Cal Fisher.
  • Penn State is 22-2 all-time against the Pioneers. They last played Feb. 12, 2022 in Fairfield, Conn. Penn State swept Sacred Heart, winning 3-0 and started the match with a 9-0 scoring run.
  • Redshirt senior libero Will Bantle ranks 12th in PSU history with 588 career digs. He would become the 10th Nittany Lion ever to reach the 600 career-dig milestone.
  • Sophomore middle blocker Toby Ezeonu is currently hitting .530 in the 2022 season. If the season were to end today, that mark would rank fourth in PSU single-season history, only trailing Max Holt's 2008 and 2009 seasons and Keith Kowal's program record .574 season in 2004.
  • Penn State pin hitters Cal Fisher and Brett Wildman have 14 matches with double-digit kills this season. Fisher recorded a team-high 18 kills in the 3-1 win against Princeton on March 18, while Wildman has nine matches of 10+ kills during Penn State's win streak.
