COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State women's golf team resumes play after a month off at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Friday and Saturday in its final tune up before the B1G Championships next weekend.
The Nittany Lions will be making their first trip to the Lady Buckeye Invitational in four years as they last competed at the 2018 event finishing ninth in the 14-team field in a weather shortened 36-hole event that year.
Penn State is coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes at the North Florida Invitational and the Briar's Creek Invitational last month and look poised for another strong showing this week at the par-72, 6,319-yard Scarlet Course at the Ohio State Golf Club.
The format of the 2022 Lady Buckeye Invitational provides a great chance for the Nittany Lions to prepare for the B1G Championships next week as opposed to the normal five count four events they usually play, this weekend will feature the same six count four format used at the B1G Championships.
The field will also be Big Ten heavy as along with the Nittany Lions and host Buckeyes, five of the other eight teams competing are from the Big Ten as Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers are also in the field. Indianapolis, Kent State and Xavier round out the 10-team field.
Play will begin on Friday morning with 36 continuous holes following an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and will conclude on Saturday morning with final round tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.

THE TEAM
- The Nittany Lions lineup will feature the same six competitors that traveled during last month's two-week southern trip as seniors Sarah Willis (Eaton, Ohio) and Taylor Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) as well as junior classmates Mathilde Delavallade (Royan, France) and Isha Dhruva (Katy, Texas) are joined by freshmen Drew Nienhaus (St. Louis, Mo.) and Katie Scheck (Greensboro, Ga.)
- Willis and Delavallade's stroke average this season are separated by just .04 at 73.29 and 73.33, respectively, while Delavallade paces the team with a pair of top-five finishes while Willis and Dhruva each have one to their credit.
- Delavallade, Dhruva and Nienhaus have each appeared in all nine events so far this season.
- As a team Penn State is averaging 295.08 per 18-hole round with five top-10 finishes, four of which have been in the top-five.
