Men's Volleyball Begins 2022 Postseason in EIVA Semifinals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The second-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team begins its 2022 postseason in the EIVA Tournament semifinals Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall.
 
The Nittany Lions (23-3, 16-0 EIVA), who clinched the top overall seed in the tournament to host the event, will face the winner of Wednesday evening's first round match between Saint Francis and Princeton.

PARKING
All Penn State Athletics non-football events will require a valid permit or payment of the applicable parking fee for campus lots. Fans with valid Penn State University Park parking permits will be permitted to park at non-football athletics events for free, following Transportation Services parking policies and access. Fans without a permit are encouraged to prepay for event parking at a discounted rate through ParkMobile - https://psu.parkmobile.io/. Prepayment is available through 11:59 p.m. the day prior to each event.
 
QUICK NOTES

  • Penn State won its 35th EIVA regular season championship with a perfect 16-0 record. It's the most wins without a loss in conference action in program history. The Nittany Lions are going for their 33rd EIVA Tournament championship this week.
  • Brett Wildman was chosen the EIVA Player of the Year for the second time in his career, joining elite company as one of four Nittany Lions to win the honor multiple times. The other three are Aaron Russell, Joe Sunder, and Jose Quinones.
  • Mark Pavlik won his record ninth EIVA coach of the year award this week. After the 16-0 EIVA record this season, Pavlik's EIVA record sits at 304-24.
  • Penn State had seven student-athletes named to All-EIVA teams earlier this week. Cole Bogner, Will Bantle, Toby Ezeonu, Cal Fisher and Brett Wildman were All-EIVA First Team honorees and Sam Marsh and Michael Valenzi were chosen All-EIVA Honorable Mentions.
