Men’s Tennis Defeated by Nebraska in Road Clash, 4-1

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Penn State men's tennis team (13-12, 3-5 B1G) fell to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-14, 5-3 B1G) in a 4-1 dual match on the road at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb. Friday night.  

"Disappointed, this was a must-win for us and despite good fights on most courts, we couldn't make it happen," said associate head coach Paul Tobin. "Nebraska has had the same roller-coaster season as we had, so we knew it could have gone either way. All we can do now is focus on Wisconsin on Sunday and the Big Ten tournament next week." 

DOUBLES  

Nebraska earned the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. 

At No. 1, Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan fell to Victor Moreno Lorenzo and Nic Wiedenhorn in a 6-3 result. Penn State earned the equalizer on court two when Miko Eala and Bora Sengul defeated the 64th ranked doubles pairing Dario Huber and Shunya Maruyama. Clinching the doubles point, Nebraska's Calvin Mueller and William Gleason defeated Loren Byers and Sam Bossem, 6-3. 

SINGLES 

The Cornhuskers secured their victory with singles wins on courts two, four, and six.  

Bossem grabbed Penn State's lone point of the match on court three in straight sets. He defeated Nebraska's Victor Moreno Lorenzo 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 13-4 in dual contests this season.
