MATCH NOTES & STATS

  • Friday's Senior Night will honor redshirt senior libero Will Bantle and senior middle blocker Canyon Tuman. Bantle is one of 10 Nittany Lions in program history to reach 600 career digs in 92 career matches. In 65 career matches, Tuman has 214 kills, 128 blocks and a .392 hitting percentage.
  • Penn State's four other seniors listed on the 2022 roster - Cole Bogner, Cal Fisher, Sam Marsh and Brett Wildman - all announced this week that they will utilize their fifth year of eligibility to return to the program for one more season in 2023 while also furthering their education at Penn State.
  • The Nittany Lions's current 16-match win streak is the longest active winning streak in the country and the program's longest since their 17-win streak in 2015. The next highest before that is 18 wins in a row in 2008, with the program-high 24-match win streak coming back in 1997.
  • This will be the first time PSU hosts St. Francis Brooklyn at Rec Hall and just the second time ever they are playing the Terriers. Penn State defeated SFB 3-0 on the road Feb. 25. The Nittany Lions are 49-2 all-time against the Highlanders, including a thrilling 3-2 win in Newark Feb. 26 against a talented NJIT squad.
  • Brett Wildman is the defending EIVA Offensive Player of the week after a big performance at Saint Francis April 2 to help Penn State clinch its 35th regular-season conference title. Wildman had a career-best seven aces to go along with 12 kills and a .550 hitting percentage.
